FFPN Founder, President, and Trainer

Ben Freudenburg is the creator of the FFPN process and training curriculum. He
has been a Director of Christian Education for 40 years,working with children,
youth, and their families to nurture their love for God and each other through the
church. He is presently serving as Family Life Program Director and Professor in
Family Studies at Concordia University—Ann Arbor. Ben has served in ministry at
Shore Haven Lutheran in Cleveland, Ohio; Our Redeemer Lutheran in Hutchinson,
Kansas; Concordia Lutheran in Kirkwood, Missouri; and Christ Church-Lutheran in
Phoenix, Arizona. He received his BS in ED and certification as Director of
Christian Education and Master’s of Science-Family Life through Concordia
University in Seward, Nebraska. Ben has served as President of Lutheran Education’s TEAM
department and as President of the Lutheran Education Association. He has written for a variety of
education youth journals and magazines, and published “The Traveling Guide...A Vehicle for Youth
Ministry”, “Through Children’s Eyes” (CPH), and “The Family Friendly Church” (Group Publishing).
Ben is married to his wife, Jennifer, is father to two grown daughters and grandpa to four

Jennifer Freudenburg, FFPN Treasurer. Jennifer currently
serves as the Executive Assistant to the President at Concordia
University-Ann Arbor. A teacher by training, she has worked as a
parochial and public school teacher, as well as with a Christian film
production company, church ministry consultant, and as a project
manager and client coordinator for various businesses. Jennifer has
been married to Ben and serving alongside him in ministry for 40
years. Ben and Jennifer live in Ypsilanti, Michigan. freudj@cuaa.edu

Cori Scholtens, FFPN Administration. Cori is responsible for most of FFPN's administrative needs
and assists in curriculum development. She has a Bachelor's in social work and a Masters in Public and
Nonprofit Administration. Cori is Ben and Jennifer's daughter and is mom to three of their grandkids.

New FFPN Trainer Teams!
During the summer of 2011, through a generous grant from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and
Thrivent Financial, five church leaders from around the country, with partner Network Administrators,
completed part one of a three part training to become licensed FFPN Trainers. Three additional church
professionals, from the U.S. and Asia, joined the training to equip churches in their regions in Family
Ministry using the FFPN curriculum.

Rob is the Marriage and Family Ministry Director at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, Texas. He is
also a counselor at the Counseling Resource Center and a Captain for Continental Airlines. Debbie is the
Director of Assimilation and the Women's Ministry Director at Salem Lutheran Church. Rob and Debbie
are from the state of Texas.

Jan retired in 2010 as a Family Sociologist from the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Crime
and Delinquency Studies at Emporia State University in Kansas. She has served on the LCMS Kansas
District's Family Life Committee since the mid '80's and facilitates "Faith and the Home" workshops
throughout her district. Keith spent his entire 43-year professional career as a teacher and principal at St.
Paul Lutheran School in Cheney, KS. He became a certified lay minister in the Lutheran church in 2008.
Jan and Keith both live in Kansas.

Joel is the Minister to Families and Children at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, Virginia.
He has a M.S. in family life ministry and a Doctorate of Ministry, Leadership in the Emerging Culture.
Rebecca is the Family Life Minister at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers, FL. She has a Masters in
Family Life Education. They will be working with the East Coast region.

Myron is the Director of Christian Education and Family Life Ministry at Messiah Lutheran Church in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He currently serves as the Oklahoma District Family Ministry Chair.
Stephen has served most of his years in parish ministry as a Director of Christian Education. He recently
"retired" from parish ministry to start a ministry education company called "We Are Living Stones." Both
Myron and Stephen live in Oklahoma.

Rosie has retired as a public school guidance counselor and teacher, served on church staff directing
children’s ministry, and completed the family life science program at Concordia NE. She currently
volunteers in a variety of positions helping families in her church and community. Karen is D.C.E. at St.
John Lutheran Church in Garfield Heights, Ohio and serves as the Director of Youth Ministry for the
Ohio District of the LCMS. Rosie and Karen live in Ohio.

Glenn is a Church Relations Representative for FamilyLife out of Little Rock, Arkansas. He and his wife,
Jo, have served in many ministry capacities over the years for Campus Crusade for Christ. They make
their home in Crown Point, Indiana.

Matthew is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Family Church in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia with a key focus
of its mission on building strong Christian families to impact the community. A Certified Family Life
Educator and a professional member of the National Council On Family Relations (U.S.A.), Matthew is a
certified facilitator for the Malaysian Government’s SMARTSTART Pre-Marriage Education, the
Empowering Couples Program by Life Innovations, Inc. USA, and the No Apologies programme. He is
also a certified administrator for Prepare-Enrich (Marriage & Pre-Marriage) Assessment Tools. Wilson
is the Director of Family Life Ministries at Elim Church in Singapore. They will be working in various
regions of Asia.
