art activities, and games are all designed to reinforce spiritual truth. Each lesson is clear and simple, yet
profound even for parents! You'll teach kids how exciting it is to learn about God and his ways. Your

Faith Legacy Series
From Kids Kount Publishing.
Available at www.kidskountpublishing.com
This is a “plug and play” video series that creates and strengthens a faith-at-home culture in your church
while empowering parents. The sessions include DVD teachings interspersed with small group
discussions. The series has three distinct phases:
- Phase I has five “steps”: Birth, age 2, age 4, age 6, age 8. At each step parents meet with other
parents (without kids) for three 60 minute parent-training sessions.
- Phase II has two similar steps: A Father-Son retreat and a Mother-Daughter retreat for 5th-6th
graders about what it means to be a man/woman of God.
- Phase III has annual steps from 7th grade through 12th grade. Teens and parents meet together
for each Phase III step – a 2-3 hour event specifically addressing a life-issue for that age group.
Two objectives for each step: 1) empowering parents to speak words of faith to their teens, and
2) keeping lines of communication open between parents and teens.
When each “step” is completed, parents speak a personalized spiritual blessing over their child while
giving the child a blessing object which facilitates family faith talk. The blessings take place in a worship
service, thus casting a vision for family faith nurture to the whole church. Roger Theimer and Mike
Heinz are co-authors.

Group says, "Invite families to walk through six modern-day settings that engage the senses—as they
explore Christ’s love and sacrifice from unique perspectives. You only need a few props to create an
incredible, interactive experience!" Faith Lutheran in Avon, Ohio used this material for their family
Lenten worships. They used one station each week, asking a different family in their church to be
responsible for setting it up. They used the narthex and back of the church to set up the hands on
activity when members arrived. The service included simple songs that kids could sing and a light
sermon. The total service was about 45 minutes. (Contact Gail DeLuca at Faith Lutheran-Avon, OH for
more information on how their church used this product.)
