Event 1: Learning the family friendly attitude
Event Name: Family Needs Survey - youth edition
Event Description: While the adults are taking the Family Life Ministries - Family Needs Survey
we've all been encouraged to survey the youth as well. I have developed a survey that mirrors
the Family Needs Survey so that we can get information from the students perspective. Such as:
on the adult form "I am aware of my child's world" Then on the youth survey the teens indicate
"my mon is aware of my world" and "my dad is aware of my world." Hopefully we can gain
some insight from the adolescents answers to how parenting is happening. If you would like a
copy of it email me at m_werner@juno.com I hope to be able to generate results similar to

Event Description: We are ordering Silicon bracelet that say "It starts with me" (like the yellow
Livestrong bracelets).

Event Name: 40 Days of Family: It starts with me
Event Description: We are developing a sermon series for Lent based on the 5 learnings for
families. It will function similar to 40 Days of Purpose if you are familiar with that program.
Our thought is if we hold a typical family bible studies or seminar on the "It starts with me"
learnings we won't get the message out to the average family sitting in the pew who may or may
not attend classes/seminars. Also, if we utilize worship it will become the "big deal" that it should.
Format:
>Ash Wed. - Prayer Vigil for families (40 blocks of time 15/block
>Weekend Worship Message (6 wks, 1 intro and 5 learnings)
>Each person will receive a Silicon bracelet that says "It starts with me" (like the yellow
Livestrong bracelets).

>Small group Bible Studies - encouraging as many people as possible to participate.
>On the last Sun we will challenge families to create a family mission statement that will be
shared at Easter Breakfast.
>Two weeks later we will hold a family education hour where families will work together to
frame and decorate the statements to be displayed in their home.
