Title of Program: Men's Group
Family Ministry Group: Adult Men
Goal: To provide adult friendships for men in the congregation as well to have the men grow
spiritually
Brief Description: The men meet twice a month. The Second Saturday morning of each month
at 10 a.m.the men of the church are invited to meet together for breakfast either at church or a
local restaurant. Some months the men will just visit as part of the gathering, other times they
will take some project. The first month we met at church to eat and then worked on list of
maintenance projects put together by our Properties Committee and our Preschool staff. The
third Sunday of the month the men meet together during the Bible class hour (while the women
hold their monthly meeting in another part of the building) for Bible Study. At present we are
suing a study from Concordia Publishing House called "Men at Work" to guide our discussion.

Goals: To give resources to parents for the development of their children’s faith in their home.
Brief Description: We have had one meeting and I had 7 families attend the meeting to watch the
tape and take home the project. I wrote a devotion based on the format from Kirk and a children’
s program my preschool class was performing. The theme was, “The Best Thing about
Christmas.” See attached sheet or file. We initially were going to meet once a month and do one
or two devotions. After having the first meeting, the parents felt the need to have four devotions
a month. They felt it would be helpful to stay in a consistent routine. Our next meeting is on
January 28th and will be based on “How to Grow Up with God.” We did order the resource
guide from Kirk, but I felt that some of lessons were too much for our age group.
