Title of program - Becoming a Family Friendly Church - Sermon Series
Family Ministry Area - The total picture
Goals - Change the mindset of discipleship from church centered family supported to family
centered church supported church.
Brief Description - Sounding the alarm with a message entitled "It Starts with Me" then
following up with a sermon series following the outline of Ben Freudenburg's "Family Friendly
Church" book. The last message is followed by a church fellowship meal and the writing of a
"Family Mission Statement." Family Mission Statements were to be posted on a bulletin board
with a picture of the family and their family mission statement. Following is the sermon series
following the It Starts with Me Sermon and the sounding of the alarm.

support as they raise their baptized children in Christ.

Goals - Equip Families with a once a week devotion that is fun interactive... a special family time
to gather around Christ
Brief Description - Family are given a devotion that utilized objects in their homes and ideas of
how to relate the lesson throughout the week.

Title of program - Family Theatre
Family Ministry Area - Cell and Small Groups
Goals - Show how cell is family friendly and an extremely important part of faith development in
Christian families.
Brief Description - We had a normal cell in front of interested families in our church... just so
they could see how it works. They ate popcorn and watched as we went through our normal
cell routine of meeting and fellowshipping, ice breaker, reading Scripture, breaking the kids out
into their own lesson, while adults had their lesson, All joined in prayer time.

Brief Description - We went away for an awesome weekend at a bed and breakfast with a
number of couples. We had sessions, fellowship time, free time, meals together.
